Description

Envirograf EP/FS/WBP Water-Based Primer for Steel is a red water based primer for use on internal and external steelwork under Envirograf Intumescent steel paint.

The air-drying water-based primer can be applied over bare, previously painted or galvanised steel after removal of loose particles and dust.

This product contains anti-corrosion additives which prevent the spread of rust on metal. It also contains flash rust inhibitors.

Preparation

Steel does not require shot-blasting.

Clean with wire brush.

Ensure that the surface is dry, clean and free from dust.

Wash with detergent water.

Slightly abrade any top coat to provide a key for the primer.

Application

Envirograf EP/FS/P can be applied using brush, roller or spray at a rate of 8 - 10 m² per litre.

Do not thin – use straight from the tin. However if applying by spray up to 10% water may be added. Drying time is approximately 30 minutes according to temperature.

After one hour apply EP/FS/IN Intumescent Steel Coating

Clean tools and spillages with warm water. Keep containers tightly closed and protect from frost.
